So…I was just browsing the Internet and saw this picture, and thought it was a pretty nice nail art design. The chain as an accent is a nice touch, in my opinion.
I’ve been debating whether or not to buy striping tape for almost a year now, and every time I come across pictures like this, it makes me re-consider buying some.
There are so many things you could do with striping tape, besides just using them to create straight lines and then peeling them off. I’ve seen designs with the nail art tape itself as part of the mani and thought it’d be great to just buy a bunch of colours…but I’m not sure how often I’d use them and ordering online is a bit of a hassle for me.
However, I like using tape to create straight lines (Cheap and you can buy it pretty much anywhere). I have discovered, though, that washi tape is also pretty good for manis. You can cut a piece into thin strips and you pretty much have striping tape…except there are so many different designs to choose from.
The year has barely started, and I already have quite a few nail art designs that I want to try out…looks like it’s going to be a pretty busy year!
So…there’s this new nail trend going around that’s caught my attention.
I’m a bit of a nail art lover, so I love looking at different pictures of nail art and getting inspiration from them. I stumbled upon this particular picture (See above) in a magazine, and thought it was pretty cool. I’ve seen a few pictures of this sort of nail art, but the one I posted seems particularly striking…at least, to me it did.
These manicures not only look cool, but they seem easy to do, too. Just a nail polish remover pen (Or a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover) and/or some tape, and you’re pretty much set.
I’ve actually used designs like these as a base or background (Whatever you want to call it) for some of my nail art designs, and it looks great. I guess I just never really thought about wearing it alone.
This is a great thing because, although I love doing nail art, sometimes I’m too lazy to spend an hour painting designs on my nails and waiting for them to dry, sometimes only for them to smudge. So this sort of quick and modern looking mani is great for those kinds of days.
Alright…it’s finally here! The day before Halloween…
Seeing all those decorations and Halloween candy and costumes everywhere makes me really excited…I’m not quite sure why I like this holiday so much, since I don’t go trick-or-treating and I hate horror movies…perhaps it’s the costumes. Or maybe just the fact that I love holidays. Who knows.
Today will be all about preparing for Halloween…costumes, candy, decorations…I’m even going to make a little time to do my nails. Nail art is a hobby of mine that I don’t do often, but I love it when I have a good reason for it.
I hope at least some of you out there share my excitement.
