Inspired: Forget You

CLC-First-Love

“Are you a patient? Talk to a doctor. Stop pretending to be sick.” (CLC-Pepe)

When this first came out, I thought that the song, MV and dance were all really cute and fun. However, the lyrics surprised me. I knew it was a breakup song, but the lyrics were fiercer than I expected them to be, since everything was so cute.

However, I grew to really like the song and the lyrics are sort of powerful, in a way. I don’t really know how else to explain it. It’s a breakup song, yes, but one that rejoices over breaking up with a guy that you don’t really want anymore anyways.

If I ever wanted a song that would perk me up on my down days, this would definitely be a good choice.

“After breaking up with you, I’m singing. Even my family and friends sing hurray. Bye now baby, forgetting you is so easy.”

Donghae_Eunhyuk_Beat Goes On

“Some day, it’ll all pass. Memories of us crazily in love…it will slowly flow down, forgotten with time.” (Super Junior D&E-Growing Pains)

I was really excited for this song, because I had loved every teaser that came out before it…but I never expected something this amazing. Honestly, I fell in love with this song at first listen. It may be one of my favourite songs of all time by the EunHae duo.

I had a really hard time picking just 2 lyrics for this post…it was tempting to post the entire song, but that would sort of defeat the point of these posts.

Anyways, a lot of people can probably relate to the heartbreaking lyrics in this song, which is really well written. And the MV didn’t have much of a storyline, but it was still obvious what was happening in it and I got the underlying meaning of the song even before I read the lyrics.

In short, I will be replaying this over and again for the next little while.

“I hope you aren’t hurting as much as me. I hope for this every day, countlessly. I hope you remember as much as I do. I hope you’re better than me.”

Inspired: When I Miss You For No Reason

BigBang_-_Alive_(Korean_Cover)

“These days, without knowing, I sing the songs we used to listen to together. On days like this when I’m locked in old memories. On nights when I miss you for no reason.” (Big Bang-Love Dust)

So…Big Bang is supposed to make their comeback soon (Finally!), and I am really excited. I decided to post an ‘Inspired’ post of one of my favourite songs from their last comeback album.

This song seems pretty upbeat, but the lyrics are really sad. I absolutely love it, though…I really do think I have a thing for sad lyrics, especially ones like this that seem to sort of tell a story. Sort of.

I’ll keep this post short…there will probably be another Big Bang ‘Inspired’ post in the (Hopefully near) future, though!

“I was too young back then. Love was hard so I tried to avoid you. It was too much pressure for me, and so I was unhappy. So, eventually, I made you cry.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

valentines-day-wallpaper

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve all been having a great Valentine’s day so far (Or Singles Awareness Day, which is cool too).

It seems like everywhere I go, I’m surrounded by pink and red fluff and lace and, of course, chocolate. Oh, and florists. Can’t forget florists and their multi-coloured roses.

I’m already anticipating all the chocolate that will go on sale starting tomorrow…I know that sounds a little sad, but hey…you can never have enough chocolate. At least, that’s what I think.

Anyways, just wanted to stop by and say Happy Valentine’s Day, and I hope you have a great one!

“I love you but, for you, who is putting on such a happy smile next to him…I will quietly close my eyes.” (BEAST-I Am A Man)

This song was like love at first listen for me…it may have had something to do with my love for Junhyung, but, when I read the lyrics, I liked the song even more. That happens a lot with me…

Anyways, I found that this song perfectly showed the feelings of somebody who doesn’t want to show how sad they are about a breakup, instead trying to just cut them out of their life. I can see a lot of people relating to this, actually…

“I will quietly erase you, so I won’t reminisce about you and the times that can’t be turned back, even the smallest memories.”

Inspired: Back To Those Innocent Days

“When I was seven years old, a short little boy…I want to go back to those days.” (JYJ-7 Years)

(The first Inspired post of this year…my absolute favourite K-Pop group of all time…well, half of it.)

Childhood nostalgia…I’m sure we’ve all experienced it. Those days when everything was simpler…those days of innocence. I think this song captures the essence of how love evolves as you mature perfectly.

The “Just Us” is my favourite JYJ album, and this is one of my favourite songs. It talks about how, when you’re young, love is innocent but, as you grow older…that changes. The lyrics really resonated with me, and I don’t think this is a song I’ll ever forget.

“After walking more in life and maturing, I began to calculate when it came to love. The times I loved you innocently…I long for those days more today.”

Inspired: Love Is Just A Daydream

Screen-Shot-2014-10-20-at-11.26.29

“Why are things that will disappear so beautiful? It’s just a daydream, love is like a daydream.” (Super Junior-Evanesce)

The music video for this song is paired, in a way, with their one for “This Is Love”, which I think is a really cool concept. In one song, you have them singing about falling in love and, in the next, they’re singing about having lost it.

One is optimistic and bright, the other dreary and seemingly hopeless. Of course, I was drawn to the latter. I guess that says something about me…I usually like sad songs more.

Anyways, I found the lyrics really touching. I wonder who wrote them…

Well, I’ll just keep this short and sweet, as usual, and end with another lyric from the song:

“In the end, it’s all momentary, love is momentary. It’s just a passing dream, I don’t want to wake up yet.”

Gowns & Guys: A Comparison

I'm With_Single

Hello everyone! So…we’ve all had some sort of negative experience with relationships and/or love…that sort of thing, right? Well, I was thinking about it the other, and came up with this little piece…a little bit more of my rambling for you all.

I’ve decided to guys and relationships in general can be compared to dresses (Gowns made a catchier title, but who really wears those nowadays, besides brides?). Maybe I’m just crazy but hey…as long as it makes sense to me, right?

1) We all have a certain style…some like their dresses to be frilly and showy, others a little more low-key and classic. Sometimes, though, we try on something that surprises us. We wouldn’t think that we’d like it, but it really suits us.

2) We’ve all had a dress that we’ve really liked…a favourite, you could say, that you think you’ll never get tired of wearing. But then it starts to lose its charm and another one catches your eye, and you begin to wonder…or maybe you’ve grown out of it. Sometimes the sentimental value we associate with the dress convinces us otherwise, or we try it on again and am reminded of how good it looks. Other times, though…we realize that something else may be better and move on.

3) There are dresses we see and then think, “Wow…this looks great!” and then try it on. And then realize that it doesn’t really suit us. Sometimes it looks great at the store and so you buy it…and then realize maybe it wasn’t really what you were looking for. Sometimes we realize this too late, once we’ve lost the receipt, and it becomes more of a hassle. And then we wonder…should we really keep it despite it all?

4) Some dresses may catch our eye, but then we decide that it’s not really worth it. Maybe we can’t afford it, or we think it’s not worth it. Maybe it’s too much like another of ours and we want something a little different. Or maybe it’s not really our style. Maybe it’d be better on someone else. Or it might seem nice on the rack, but does it really fit into your life and style?

5) Finally…rather than forcing ourselves to fit the dress, I’ve found that it works wonders if the dress fits you instead. Rather than dieting, dealing with that too-tight bodice or wearing a style that you think looks horrible but everyone else swears looks great on you, it’d be much better to find a dress that just fits you in the first place. Much less of a hassle, and you’ll like it way more.

These are just my thoughts…feel free to ignore them.

A lot has happened to me in the past year, and, currently, I think I’m just going to step back and breathe, take the time to think about myself and what I am in life. Basically, I’m just going to stay single until things settle down. I have a lot to worry about and don’t feel like I’d be a good other half in a relationship right now because I don’t even know what I really want yet.

I think that there are more important things I should focus on right now…so, for now at least, I’ll just enjoy the single life. Taking time off for myself, hanging out with friends and “Ohh”ing at the occasional cute guy…sounds good for now.
