Spring Cleaning!

Happy first day of April! (Also known as April Fools. Don’t worry, I’m not going to play a joke on you through this post!)

Lately, I’ve been noticing that I’m running low on a few of my beauty products so I decided to make a list of what I needed. In the process, I decided to clean out all my beauty products. The box I kept my makeup in was a mess. Plus, there were a few products that I didn’t use enough and probably had to be thrown out because I’d had it for so long. And a few that didn’t really work out for me, but I thought that I might be able to use it up…I hadn’t.

This was actually pretty great, because I remembered some products that I didn’t dislike, just sort of forgot about. And some products that I wasn’t repurchasing because I used it so seldom.

And, in the end, my list of products I needed ended up being a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Of course, this is just for spring. I have some products I’m running low on, but I probably have enough to last me a few months, so I’ll make another mini-haul in the summer.

2015 Resolutions: Update!

So, a little while ago, I made a post about the resolutions that I was making for myself this year. I decided to take a little time to share how things are going with you guys.

I’ve been exercising more (Hopefully I can keep this up for the rest of the year), and even though it’s only been a little over a month, I can already start to feel and see the difference it makes. At least, in my dancing. 2 additional days a week on top of dance practices is a good place to start, and I may be able to add a third day if things continue going this well!

Drinking more water has also been great for my skin, although it’s probably been beneficial to a whole lot more than that. Some days, I still don’t drink very much water, but those days are becoming fewer, so that’s an improvement. I’m not quite at 6 cups at day yet…most days, it’s more like 5. But that’s still better than before.

This has actually been the most difficult resolution for me. I’m the type that feels the most productive, or at least the most awake, at night, so I can’t really get myself to sleep earlier most days. However, I have been getting more sleep, mostly since I sleep late only when I know I can sleep in the next morning. Well…usually. During busier times (Like this week), it’s been a bit of a struggle.

I also added another New Year’s resolution a little while later, and this one isn’t as easy to keep as I thought it would be. It has, however, made me feel a little more organized, writing down what I have to do when.

Anyways, I hope I will continue to be this productive during the year…or at least continue being able to keep my resolutions!

And to those of you who also made resolutions this year, and readers out there in general: I hope that you guys are doing well, and that the start of 2015 has been a good one!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve all been having a great Valentine’s day so far (Or Singles Awareness Day, which is cool too).

It seems like everywhere I go, I’m surrounded by pink and red fluff and lace and, of course, chocolate. Oh, and florists. Can’t forget florists and their multi-coloured roses.

I’m already anticipating all the chocolate that will go on sale starting tomorrow…I know that sounds a little sad, but hey…you can never have enough chocolate. At least, that’s what I think.

Anyways, just wanted to stop by and say Happy Valentine’s Day, and I hope you have a great one!

DIY: Easy Hairpin

2015-01-30 19.50.28

Wednesday…usually considered one of the dreariest days of the week. I decided to spruce up this Wednesday, though, which a little DIY I just did myself last week. I don’t know if this is already online somewhere (It probably is…everything’s online these days), but I decided to share it anyways.

2015-01-30 19.47.00

This DIY takes less than 5 minutes, is cheap and is also incredibly easy. What more could you ask for, right?

All You Need: Dangly earrings (Ones with jump rings you can open), a bobby pin and some pliers.

I find that the textured bobby pins (Like the one pictured above) work best, because the charms are less likely to fall off.

There are only really 3 steps in this simple DIY, so here we go!

1) Detach the dangly charm(s) from the earring.

2) Close the jump ring using your pliers.

3) Slide the charm(s) onto the bobby pin.

You can also add jump rings to charms and basically customize these any way you want…I find that these little pins are a great way to spruce up any bun! You just have to be careful when taking them out of your hair, but you can switch up the charms whenever you want.

I don’t have my ears pierced, but I still receive earrings as gifts sometimes, and I also occasionally see earrings that I absolutely love. I couldn’t believe I didn’t think of using them this way before. And you can make a matching pair of pins, too! I used the other half of these earrings to make a necklace, but you can do whatever you want with them.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your February, and see you soon!

Another New Year’s Resolution…?

So, I made a post about a week and a half ago listing my basic New Year’s resolutions and, thanks to a not-so-impulse buy, I may have another one.

For the past 3 months or so now I’ve had my eye on this beautiful planner…the pages all have varied designs and there are quotes sprinkled throughout, paired with romantic pictures. They also have spaces for lists such as restaurants that you want to try. It was a nice size, too…the only not so nice thing? It was $15.00, and I’ve never been a huge fan of planners…I always end up forgetting about them.

However, I saw this a few days on sale for $10.00, and I had a 15% off coupon, meaning that it’d only be $8.50. So I decided to go for it.

The fact that I was also buying a birthday present for my friend and needed ~$7.00 more before I got free shipping probably had something to do with it.

I’ve added this to my list of New Year’s resolutions…get organized (At least, more organized than I am right now)! I’m hoping this pretty new planner will help me with this.

Early Birthday Shopping

So…with Christmas over, stores everywhere are breaking out their “Sale” signs. Which means lots of cheap stuff.

Sure, you can probably find a lot of great stuff for yourself, but I find that this is the best time of year to start buying birthday gifts. Not only is it nice to get it out of the way early (And it’ll be great in case I forget closer to the day of, which tends to happen), there’s so much you could get for so little!

I even get a little bit of extra early Christmas shopping done during this time. Anything that I think will make a nice Christmas gift, plus wrapping and all that kind of stuff, I consider purchasing. Seriously…this is the perfect time to buy wrapping stuff for next year, since a lot of stuff is ~70-75% off at this time. A bag of 50 bows and spools of ribbon for $0.50 each, wrapping paper for $1.50 and cute little gift bags for $0.25 each…it’ll save you a lot of money for the coming Christmas.

I like to make a list of all the birthdays in the coming year and then another detailing what I’ve bought and for what occasion it’s for (Birthday, Christmas, etc.). I generally get notebooks during Christmas, so they’re great to use for this purpose. I also get a lot of gift bags, which go towards organizing all the gifts and such that I’ve bought (Until they can be re-used, that is).

I can never finish all of the Christmas shopping at this time (Since a lot of stuff is sold out and there might be things I want to gift people closer to the date), since it probably isn’t a great idea to buy food and skincare items a year in advance. Getting a nice chunk of it done slowly throughout the year pays off once the holiday shopping season comes around again, though.

New Year’s Resolutions

I know it’s probably a bit late for this, but I’ve never exactly been one to really rush things…I took a little bit of time to think of a few New Year’s resolutions, and I thought that writing a post about them would help motivate me to keep them a little bit more.

I decided to keep them nice and simple, but also a little specific so that it’s easier to keep. Like they say…small steps.

Alright, so here we go…

1) Exercise more: I’m already part of a dance team, but I don’t do much outside of that. I want to start working out a little more at home, rather than just doing dance. I’m shooting for at least 2 days a week on top of my dance practices and such.

2) Drink more water: I have a bad habit of not drinking much water, or liquid in general. I’ve made a little improvement, but I’m only drinking ~4 cups a day at the moment. There are a lot of benefits to drinking water, and it’s seems like such an easy thing to do, but I tend to forget. I’m aiming for at least 6 cups a day.

3) At least try and get more sleep: My schedule gets pretty hectic at times, and sleep becomes less of a priority during those days. However, it ends up catching up to me at the worst times, so I want to make an effort to at least get 8 hours of sleep a day.

So…there they are. The first one is pretty typical, I know, and I’m not exactly being creative. However, like I said before…small steps.

Anyways, I hope those of you with New Year’s resolutions are getting a good start on them!

Miss Rose (Taiwanese Drama) Pt. 2

I just finished this drama a few days ago and decided to share my thoughts on it. It took me a while because I stopped in the middle after getting so busy that I couldn’t really make time for it anymore.

Starring Megan Lai and Roy Qiu, I thought that this drama was funny and quirky. A little refreshing, actually, because it wasn’t quite the same as all those typical rom-coms floating around among Taiwanese dramas.

The leads had nice chemistry and the characters weren’t too flat or boring. The lack of second-male lead syndrome helped, too. Actually, that little bit with the second-male lead near the end sort of threw me for a loop.

It got pretty boring around the middle, but picked up near the end, as a lot of dramas do. I actually posted about this a little while ago, but I’m glad that I finished it. The ending was sort of a little like redemption for the whole drama.

Perhaps the little (Read: Long) break that I took from watching the drama helped with that a little bit, who knows.

However, unlike many of the dramas that I’ve watched, the ending didn’t disappoint me. Usually, when I like dramas at the beginning, I find the endings sorely disappointing. This wasn’t the case this time, though.

Well…now to move on to my next drama, I guess.

Christmas Candy…

So, I probably get enough candy during Christmas, but I can’t be the only one who goes out hunting for the on sale Christmas candy after Christmas is over.

You can get pretty good deals…and I can’t help myself and always buy at least a few types, even though I have a lot already.

But one thing that I think is really good is all the Christmas packaging and wrapping stuff that’s on sale after Christmas. I always get it during the end of December or in January because everything’s so cheap…and it means spending less money next Christmas, since I won’t have to buy any of that stuff.

Whenever I got to buy one, I always seem to end up buying the other, too…so, no matter what, I always come home with both wrapping paper and chocolate…

New Twitter Account!

Hi everyone! So, as you might have heard from a post on my main blog, I’ve opened a Twitter account for my delicatedesire blog to provide updates on reviews and previews of upcoming ones!

It’s a way I’m ushering in the new year…I’m not a big Twitter user, but I decided to seize this opportunity to try and get my blog out there a little more.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by and I promise there will be lots more posts to come in 2015!
